Volunteering

Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do

Volunteerism is now a world trend that has been instrumental in changing the lives of many people. Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do, because many times those that serve are impacted the most. The usual volunteer concept is of someone physically doing something or passing on a skill in the project or country the volunteer visits. Recognizing that volunteer involvement is integral, with potential power to influence our organization and goals in betterment, we welcome you! At Feed My Lamb Kabarole, we regard everyone that comes to stay with us as a friend, in fact we aim to build a global family.

We rely on volunteers to help sustain some of our programs. Your small contribution can create a meaningful life and a bright future for today’s vulnerable children and communities.

Immersed experience

As a visitor within our community, acknowledgement that you will positively support FMLK and our surrounding communities and trust us with the guidelines set in place are of utmost importance. We will work with you and your group to familiarize you with some of the requirements while you visit. Our goal is for efforts of the idea of changing of “hand out vs hand up”. As with any foreign visit the most import factor is that you show respect to our people group, respect our culture and our ways and come with an attitude of humility, of enjoyment and experiencing.

It is our core belief that it is vitally important for the project to continue to empower the local people, but we also truly believe that your experience with us will equally have a positive long-term impact on your life. Therefore, the interaction between our different cultures is helping us all to grow!

We will do our best to have a schedule that not only allows you to experience the community, the school, the children and our food and traditions, we want you to have the opportunity to visit a state park and experience the surrounding areas of Kampala with the chance to shop, eat and see a culture show if this appeals to you/group. All costs are required by volunteers to absorb.
